Research Topics:
The research group focusses
on laser ultrasonics and photoacoustic and photothermal research. In the
former domain the elastic properties of materials is studied through the
analysis of the propagation of acoustic surface waves near an interface
of two materials (excitation and detection are all optical). In the
photoacoustics and photothermal research work, the properties of normal
and complex fluids and gases are investigated (specifically those gases
and fluids where phase transition phenomena occur).
